I can't believe it's October already! Time to think seriously about decorating for fall.
I went to Half Moon Bay this week to buy pumpkins, mums and topiaries to decorate our home for the season. I'm not quite ready to show the final result yet, but here are a few of my inspiration photos.
I love this fall arrangement above with the dried flowers and pumpkins. No need to even plant this flower box.
Same for this flower box. It's just a simple collection of green pumpkins, which I love, and gourds.
An old wheel barrel with stenciled pumpkins is perfect for greeting guests on the porch.
I like this one because of the variation of pumpkins. I'm not a fan of orange, so white and green pumpkins are a nice departure from the traditional orange pumpkins. Besides, I think they look more elegant!
An old bird bath becomes a gorgeous centerpiece for this collection of heirloom pumpkins.
How beautiful is this!
I like how this urn has become a pumpkin lantern.
And finally, just putting a collection of gathered pumpkins in all colors by the front door with dried branches and leaves is enough to greet your guests.
Happy October!
Now go out and get some pumpkins!

Dearest Delores,
LOVE your Airedale terrier! They are so feisty and so protective of their property.
Your autumn decorations look lovely, just perfectly blended with the right colors. Funny about your dislike for orange pumpkins, in Germany and The Netherlands you see more and more WHITE ones.
Trends keep changing of course.
Mentioning Half Moon Bay did bring back fond memories for me. As consultants my husband and I spent quite a lot of time in your state so we've wined and dined all over and know most areas well.
Sunny greetings from Georgia,

I love the window boxes -looking forward to seeing what you create over the week-end
Your pictures as always as so beautiful!
Beautiful photos, Delores. I love the flower box in the first photo and the photo of the old wheel barrell with the stenciled pumpkins. Great inspiration. I plan to try ssome of the stenciled ones this year. The Cinderellas and the white one were always my Mom's favorites.
I put pumpkins on my shopping list. I would love to be standing in a field full of pumpkins! The chickens would love to have some pumpkins too. (Love the old barn) Beautiful decorating!
I love the picture of the bird bath center piece. I have been looking for something different than a bale of hay, cornstalks and pumpkins. I think I have found my inspiration! Thanks for posting all these beautiful ideas. Happy Fall! Lisa
Now I'm really getting excited ... inspired!!!

Gorgeous photos! I can't wait to see what YOU have done with your place.
I feel like Fall has bypassed me in a way. We are leaving on Tuesday and not coming back until the 15th so I didn't want to do too much. Guess I will jump on the bandwagon when we get back.
I love those green and white pumpkins and I haven't seen any around here this year...sad...
Thanks for the inspiration-xxoo Diana
What great inspiration pictures and you actually gave me an idea from one! I had moved an old cement bird bath to a bed out front this Spring to elevate some flowers and be different. I had a nice hanging type pot sitting in it ~ it was perfect through the Summer and I didn't know which way I should go for Fall. Seeing that picture with the potted pumpkin has convinced me that's it!
Just about to head out the door this morning to get some plants for a planter (window box)~ you changed my mind! I've gotten inspired with the pumpkins and dried flowers. (might even get the hubby to get some left-over ears of corn from the garden).
Thanks for sharing.

Great inspiration shots! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
