Florence has "gone to the dogs!"
Seriously, there are so many cute dogs here!
I felt so sorry for this little guy in the pouring down rain.
How beautiful is this dog with her blue eyes? I could take her home!
No need for a leash for this old fellow. He didn't get too far from his master's side.
Neither did his brother with the lampshade on his head.
There are stubborn dogs...
...and dogs in full rain gear!
Even a little homeless dog begging for food. Poor thing!
I can't help noticing though that all these dogs are well loved!
Looks like the feeling is mutual!
(Can you tell I'm missing my Dexter Dog?)

Gorgeous photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love, Me!
You dog...I see your off in Italy having a ball! HAHA!!! Fabulous photos of dogs. It's is so hard to leave the furry ones behind and enjoy ourselves without missing them just a bit.
I soooooo enjoyed this post since I too am a dog lover. It sounds like you are really enjoying your holiday.

love seeing all the dogs. The photos of Florence are great. We have visited Italy several times and I just love it!
Such a cute post Dolores!!!
Love the last photo of the Westy. An Italian version of our neighbor's dog, Latte, who we adore and borrow all the time!!!
Hi Delores, Do they still let dogs inside restaurants in Italy? When we were there I was shocked to see this but all the dogs were very well behaved and just sat by the tables with their owner. You could tell how fond Italians are of their dogs.
xo, Sherry
ahhhh ... so cute ... they get in your blood!
how many kisses have you given your son???
have fun dearie
Dearest Delores,
Guess that in Western Europe there indeed is more of a commitment to keeping and caring for a dog, versus in the USA. There are a few lucky ones here but the shelters are bursting out from too many abandoned dogs... Worse is that during holiday season you find them alongside the interstates; just being put out!
Speaks for you, at least you miss your canine and that speaks of LOVE!
Enjoy your time; rain or shine!
Sunny greetings from Georgia,

*** Ohhhh Delores, this posting SOOOOO touches my HEART!!! Animal lover (okay, "nutcase") that I am, I MUST PET every... single...dog that I see... (BUUUT I always, of course, ask the owner first, "just in case"!)...
"Interesting note": EVERY DOG we've ever had, in our 18 years of living off n' on in Europe for a few years at a time, has gone with us WHEREVER and WHENEVER we wanted... even to restaurants... Europeans are ALMOST as nutty as ME about their dogs, & even leave bowls of water outside (or inside!) their stores for them when it's hot!!! Ours "made us proud" with SUPER-GOOD restaurant manners (ONCE they were lovingly TAUGHT <or I/we "BEGGED" them!) to be "good" & lay down & NOT beg... sweethearts, each & every one of them!!!
The precious "big dog" (can't BELIEEEEVE I don't know what breed he is... I think the sweetie is "mixed"! <he/she is part bloodhound ya think?)does NOT seems to be "PROUD" to be seen in his/her raincoat (maybe he/she "EMBARRASSED"?), or just plain ol' doesn't like it! Poor baby!
...A most DELIGHTFUL posting~ MANY THANKS!
Now, your PASTA & WINE ARE WAITING, so YOU must go!!!!!!
Hugs,
Linda

What fun...and I do believe the dogs there go right into the restaurants and lay at the owner's feet or side? Looks like you are enjoying your trip....stay safe! Hugs-Diana
These are the cutest dogs and I am so happy to see that my family is not the only one that comes home with pictures of the local dogs on our vacations! We have Italian dogs in our collection too. Don't you just love Florence? So lucky that your son is studying there so you have a very good excuse for a trip! I hope that you have a chance to have several dinners with himI Linda
