California Romantic

On the top floor of Ralph Lauren's store in the heart of New York City is the newest collection called "California Romantic." How apropos!

California does seem very romantic, now that I'm back. It's sunny and everything is in bloom. Even the air smells floral!

I think Ralph Lauren really captured the essence of California with this collection. It reminds me of Santa Barbara.

Or the wine country.
"The ultimate expression of artisanal luxury, with hints of the rustic and the exotic and the beauty of authentic craftsmanship."

In another nearby vignette, a romantic canopied bed. I'm not sure which collection this belongs to. I know it's beyond beautiful though!

Isn't it nice to know that "pretty" is back and romantic decor is still alive?
Thank you Ralph Lauren!

I just might never leave the bedroom. Someone could bring my food on a tray. I could blog from my bed with all those pillows plumped up behind me.
Oh yes, this is for me.

Romantic style has never been gone, not for those of us who like it. I think we reach a certain age, and we use elements we like, regardless of trends. I have always preferred a softness in my rooms, because the world outside can be hard.

Delores,
This "hopeless romantic" is smitten for sure with the California Romantic collections! Reminds me of the song..."Take My Breath Away"! You certainly did with this post!
Fondly,
Pat

I love that you mentioned that even the air smells floral.

One of my favorite college spring breaks was spent in a suburb of San Francisco. My room mate and I drove about 12 hours to get there, and it was dark when we pulled into our destination.

While we were navigating neighborhoods to find the estate where her brother and SIL worked, we experienced an incredible floral/citrusy scent. We rolled down the windows and breathed deep.

If I could have bottled that smell up and broght it home with me I would have. It was divine.

Delores, thank you for sharing these photos. I so miss the Ralph Lauren store that was once here. Now we have only a small boutique with clothes, no home furnishings. I used to make frequent trips to the old store just for inspiration. Every room and vignette was gorgeous. This does look like California. Great name for this collection. ~ Sarah
