My friend Lisa has been telling me about an antique store on her side of the Bay that has more majolica than I could ever imagine! So, last week, I drove across the bridge and met her for lunch and treasure hunting.
The lovely Terri, treasure hunter extraordinaire from La Dolfina also joined us for lunch. Two bloggers and a designer together! Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about!
After lunch, they were both excited to show me Friendship Farm Antiques. Sure enough, this store has a ton of majolica. I was in heaven!
They sell transferware too. I should have bought this Masons Vista pitcher!
All three of us walked out empty handed. No worries though, Terri knows all the best consignment and thrift stores, so off we went!
I lucked out at the cutest little cottage, turned thrift store when I spotted this ironstone butter tub. $4 please!
Also, this bee skep for $8! After I finish my planting project on the side porch, it will fit right in!
My "big ticket item" though is this faux bamboo etagere. Only $125! The tops of the shelves have been painted black, so that's probably why it wasn't more. However, I like it that way.
Now, where to put it. Certainly not in this bathroom!
It was such a fun day! What could be more fun--friends, antiques and lunch!

What fun and love your finds. They have lots of majolica at the Scott's antique market here, but it is so expensive. I just can't bring myself to pay that.
Great finds! What a nice way to spend a day.
Delores,
Thank goodness that store with the majolica and transferware isn't anywhere near here. I would be in BIG trouble! Love the bamboo etagere and the bee skep.
Thanks for taking us shopping with you.

Recipe for a perfect day, antiquing and friends....love all the pics!
My heart is beating faster from all the sheer loveliness!
Sounds like a lovely day, Delores. I love my lamp shades Carmella made for me. I think I've shared photo with you awhile back. She makes beautiful things.
You lucky girl! Love your new finds, and no doubt I could easily get in trouble in Friendship Farms Antiques. I passed up a small bamboo table recently ~ great price but very wobbly.
Thanks for sharing all the eye candy. ~ Sarah
Love your finds...and proud that you didn't overspend in Store #1- You did good, girl!!! Love that little butter dish and I just realized that when we moved I left my bee skep in my old garden and with all the confusion never missed it until now! (We've been gone 5 years);>) Glad you had a fun day! xxoo Diana
love your insirational blog and loved the dishes in the fish eddy post - shop in NY. I tried to order some dishes to send here, but the ups rate was almost $200 for a couple of mugs!!! outrageous! So will have to enjoy the dishes etc reading about them here!!
Wow, I would love to be able to visit this antiques and gift shop. Treasures were plentiful there. The majolica collection so stunning as were the hutch with the transferware, I love the red and blue. It seems lady luck was with you when you hit the thrift store. Great buys.
I Enjoy your lovely blog.........

The French Hutch
Hi Delores,
Was that confit pot for sale? I've always meant to ask you where you've found the many, many French confit pots I see in your pics. I'll even settle for a "faux" confit pot! Do they make faux ones in China?
I'm a faithfull readaer and I LOVE your blog!
Your friend from Miami,

Oh Delores, I just ADORE majolica but can never find any that I can afford:( I would have been depressed in that store:):):) I LOVE what you did bring home. Just today I was out and saw a bee skep just like yours for $25.00!!!! So, you did GOOD girl! LOVE the butter tub and the etegere. Sounds like a GREAT day! XO, Pinky
What a fun day! Such fabulous finds!
Oh Delores, I love your taste and style so much. We have so many items in common! Guess what???? I have the same bamboo stand that I got at an estate sale and I got a steal on mine also ($80-ish) but I have seen that same one for $450 on Ebay several times! We both got steals! I have mine in my master bath and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I am enamored with antique bamboo!
